The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) is the world’s Largest and Top National-level Research and Technology Commercialization Ecosystem for China. CAS has 12 branches, more than 100 research institutes, 3 universities (University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, China University of Technology, Shanghai University of Science and Technology), and more than 130 national key laboratories and engineering centers. CAS Cloud Computing Research Institute is the only large-scale R&D institution directly under the CAS with cloud computing and big data as its core R&D field. It is also the only institute-level cloud computing industrialization base of the CAS. The center is jointly established by seven CAS institutes, including Institute of Computing, Institute of Remote Sensing, Institute of Electronics, Institute of Automation, Institute of Software, Institute of Acoustics, Network Information Center, and a provincial institute, as well as Institute of Cybersecurity, Institute of Intelligent Manufacturing, Digital Research Institute of the Greater Bay Area and of Health Industry.
